How to get to bled:

Bled is well connected by all traffic paths. It is easy to reach by plane, bus, car or train.

For those arriving by plane, the closest airport is Airport Jože Pučnik Ljubljana. It is located 36 km from Bled. The airline companies flying from Ljubljana to London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Brussels, Amsterdam …, are Air France, Turkish Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Easy Jet, Wizz Air, Air Serbia, Aeroflot, Montenegro Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Transavia, EL AL Israel Airlines and Finnair.

From the airport, Bled is easily accessed by:

Distances from other major international airports: Trieste (170 km), Venice (290 km), Zagreb (200 km), Klagenfurt (80 km), Salzburg (230 km), Vienna (380 km) and Budapest (500 km). Getting from and to these airports the most affordable option is GoOpti. You can check prices and book transport online at https://www.goopti.com/en/.

For those arriving by car, Bled is 47 km away from the Austrian border (Wurzenpaß) or Italy (Fusine Laghi – Rateče). To reach Bled you can take the highway (direction Ljubljana) and then the exit toward Lipce or Bled. Alternatively, you can take the regional road Kranjska Gora–Jesenice, passing by Blejska Dobrava čez Kočno and Gorje or the motorway from Jesenice, passing by Žirovnica and Lesce to Bled.

Bled is 50 km away from Ljubljana (40-50 minutes with car or bus). The easiest access is the highway toward Jesenice, which you leave at the exit toward Bled or Lipce. The other option is to drive on the regional road, passing by Medvode, Kranj, Naklo and Radovljica.

If you are driving on a highway, do not forget to purchase a vignette, which is obligatory in order to drive on Slovenian highways and on bypasses around Ljubljana. Roads which require the vignette are marked with relevant signs. You may purchase vignettes online or at service stations near the border with Slovenia or in Slovenia. The vignette is electronic and you need your car registration number to buy it. Buy it at: Home (dars.si)

How to reach the meeting venue

If you’re arriving by car, in Bled parking is allowed in designated car parks only. Detailed parking rules are displayed on signs at each car park. Parking areas differ in terms of permitted length of stay and parking charge. In most car parks, you can enter with a prepaid parking ticket which must be clearly displayed  in the windscreen of your vehicle. Most car parks accept payment in coins, and a few take banknotes or permit payment by mobile (text message or EasyPark app). In short-stay parking areas without ‘pay and display’ ticket machines (e.g. blue zone), you will need to mark the start of your stay on a parking clock or display a note stating the time of arrival in the windscreen.
